Does filing for Bankruptcy remove all of my debt?
A Chapter 7 Bankruptcy case will wipe out most of your debt such as credit
card debt, medical bills, personal loans and debt owed on a repossessed
vehicle. It will not wipe out student loans, child support or alimony
payments. Some tax debt may be able to be wiped out depending on when you
filed the tax returns and if the taxes are over three years old. A Chapter
13 plan pays back some or all of your debt over time with a payment plan you
work out with your attorney.
